“Taijiang Black-faced Spoonbill Season”: Spoonbill Season Starts at Taijiang National Park

The annual bird migration season begins in October of each year, and endangered black-faced spoonbills flock to their other home, Taijiang National Park. Taijiang National Park Headquarters welcome these friends with the special “Taijiang black-faced spoonbill season” beginning from October, 2013 to April, 2014. The season was officially declared to be opened on September 29 at Cheng Da Bookstore. Director Lu of the Taijiang National Park Headquarters announced various events that will be launched in the following six months, including the “National Spoonbill Census,” “Fashionable Players—Eco Camp,” “Drifting in Taijiang—Looking for Bill,” “Wind Travelers—Film Screening,” “Cycle Tours of Wetland Schools,” and other activities. These activities aim to promote public visits to Taijiang National Park to meet black-faced spoonbills and other winter birds. Participation in these activities will promote understanding of park resources and the relationship between ecological resources and their environments.
