2013 Taroko Music Festival
The 2013 Taroko Music Festival took place on October 5 at Changchun Temple. Around 2,000 concert-goers attended each of the morning and afternoon concerts in the Liwu Valley, enjoying the sounds of nature and beautiful melodies.
The October 5 concert was divided into morning and afternoon concerts. The morning concert, “Diversion,” lasted from 10:30 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. with a focus on eastern wind and string instruments and western orchestral music. The afternoon concert, “Quiet Notes,” was from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and consisted of a string quartet and a clarinet quintet. The open-air performances provided a beautiful backdrop to the music, interspersed with natural sounds such as running water, wind, and chirping insects. This blended together for a fusion of the visual and auditory, nature and human culture, one of the biggest features of the Taroko Music Festival.
