Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters invited park and environmental conservation officials from Bhutan’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forests to Taiwan. Mr. Phento Tshering, Director of the Thimphu Province Forest Division of the Bhutan National Forest and Parks Department, led a delegation consisting of Thrumshingla National Park Forestry Director Mr.Ugyen Namgyel, veteran Forest Service Officer Mr. Sonam Wangdi from the Wildlife Department, and Senior National Recreation and Eco-tourism Officer Mr. Tshering Phuntsho. They arrived at Taiwan on October 20 for a 12-day experience exchange and visit.

The exchange includes visits to the Shei-Pa, Taroko, Kinmen and other national parks. They will also attend the “Shei-pa and Bhutan Travel Together in Happiness— 2013 International Forum on Taiwan-Bhutan National Park Exchange and Cooperation” on October 31. It is hoped that close interaction through discussions and field visits will encourage exchanges in national park management styles and development experiences for eco-tourism, and lead to long-term cooperation opportunities and models.
