Shei-Pa National Park Administration Office First to Offer Mountaineer Accommodations in Mountain Resorts
As the second highest mountain in Taiwan, Mt. Shei is the most popular holiday and everyday destination for tourists visiting Shei-Pa National Park. However, many mountaineers end up sleeping in the hallways at mountain resorts or in the open air because they do not have the relevant information and thus cannot apply for beds.
In regard of the health and safety of these travelers, the Shei-Pa National Park Administration Office has designated bed numbers 151 to 156 in Qika Resort and 127 to 132 in Sanliujiu Mountain Resort for mountaineers as basic and proper accommodations in Shei-Pa National Park. Staff at the tourist service center at the hiking entrance will distribute bed numbers in order of arrival, authorize each mountaineering group by stamping their registration documents, and register the given bed numbers as occupancy permits.
The measure goes into effect on December 1, 2013. After a two-month trial period, further amendments and discussions will be made in consideration of the results of the trial period.
