Snow Season Traffic-Dispersion Measures Take Effect for the Hehuan Mountain Area

It is about to snow again in the Hehuan Mountain area. To maintain traffic flow and tourist safety in the mountainous area during the snow season, the Taroko National Park Administration and other related divisions will work together to enforce “Snow Season Traffic-Dispersion Measures” for the Hehuan Mountain area. The entrance of vehicles into the Hehuan Mountain area will be regulated so as to maintain recreational and traffic safety in the snowy areas. Those coming to the Hehuan Mountain area for snow-seeing are strongly advised to follow the traffic regulations.

During the enforcement period of the traffic regulations (i.e., the snow season), Provincial Highway 14 Jia from Tayuling and passing through Xiaofengkou, the Hehuan Camp Retreat, Wuling, Kunyang, Yuanfeng, and Cuifeng will be regulated from January 1st to March 2nd, 2014. The Chinese New Year Holiday (from January 30th to February 4th) and every weekend during this period are “key regulation periods for the snow season.” The Taroko National Park Administration reminds tourists to check the snow and road conditions before they hit the road; also, visitors are advised to check their vehicles and physical health, and to prepare necessary winter equipment, in advance.
