Working holiday, public participation in the elimination of foreign species

Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters implementedthe “foreign and invasive animal and plant species seminar and eliminationworking holiday” in the Wenshui area on March 29th, 2014,eliminating invasive species in the area, including Leucaenaleucocephala and Tilapianilotica.

Foreign invasive species are one of the maincauses for the decline in biodiversity. Foreign species are able to crossgeological barriers to non-native environments through intentional orunintentional dissemination by human beings, in which species that survive andreproduce are called naturalized species; species that expand and endangernative species and the survival of human beings are called invasive species.Invasive species take over the ecological niche of native species through competition,or directly prey on, become parasites, or infect native species, resulting inthe death of native species. In recentyears, invasive species have impacted theecology and biodiversity in Shei-Pa National Park, and this activity was thusheld to maintain the balance of natural ecology.
