Kinmen National Park Headquarters Begins Investigations into Illegal Nets in the Waters of Cihu Special Scenic Area
To preserve the ecological environment of waters in Cihu Special Scenic Area and prevent nets from affecting the activity of birds, Kinmen National Park Headquarters and Kinmen National Park Branch, Fourth Division, Seventh Special Police Corps jointly implemented the “Cihu Special Scenic Area Water Area Illegal Nets Investigation and Guidance Project.”Director Lin Yung-Fa of Kinmen National Park Headquarters called on residents to refrain from setting up nets in the waters to catch aquatic animals, because it will interfere with the normal activity of birds, create competition and damage the food chain, and further change the ecological environment. Illegal fishing rafts might endanger the lives and assets of local residents and tourists. He hoped that everyone will jointly preserve Kinmen’s ecological environment and allow Cihu’s rich ecological resources to provide an excellent environment for birds and aquatic animals.
