The famous tourist attraction in Taroko National Park–Baiyang Trail was severely damaged by thestrong winds and rain brought by typhoon Matmo; handrails of the bridge at Waheier River were washed away and numerous parts of the trail collapsed. Taroko National Park Headquarters indicated that after several days ofemergency repair, the trail is now passable and monitoring of the repaired sections showed that they were stable. Hence, the Baiyang Trail will be open tovisitors on 8/15.
