This conference invitedforeign scholars and experts formerly at Asian trade locations of the VOC toshare their restoration experiences. Taijiang National Park is considering thefeasibility of rebuilding the Dutch Trading Post, as well as restoration,cultural travel and local development aspects, based on experiences of othercountries, data of trading posts around the world, and reconstruction experiencesand development strategies of other Asian countries. This conference is thestarting point for building a consensus among citizens, and for listening tothe perspectives of different sectors regarding the building, so that the DutchTrading Post will not become merely a building for tourists.
