The award ceremony for ART&TUR, 2014was held in the city of Porto in northern Portugal on October 25^th. Among Taiwanese films, “Taiwan National Parks from Above” attracted the most attention as it received the highest honor being named the Best Asian Film.

Professor Su Che-Jen, an international member of ART&TUR, indicated that the Best Asian Film “Taiwan National Parks from Above” not only received excellent reviews from judges of each country, but was also presented to an European audience in the special topic lecture “Local Marketing of Taiwan”; the audience was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful four seasons of Taiwan national parks from above. After the lecture ended, Mr. Georges Pessis, planner of the Deauville Green Awards, indicated that the film completely overturned his limited impression of tropical islands, and enthusiastically invited other films on Taiwan’s natural ecology to enter the film exhibition.

Thanks to the extraordinary performance of Taiwanese films and the ROC representative in Portugal personally attending the award ceremony, the national flag of the ROC was shown along with South Africa, and Paraguay in the introductory film before the ceremony began, and our representative was referred to as “ambassador” throughout the ceremony. Moreover, the ROC delegation was also treated with high respect. The event was not only a successful diplomatic event, but also successfully introduced Taiwanese films to Europe.
