Overrun by All-Terrain Vehicles and Remodeled Jeeps, Kenting National Park Headquarters and the Police Crack Down on Illegal Activities

Fengchuisha and Lungpan Grass Land (special scenic area) of Kenting National Park have recently been found to be overrun by all-terrain vehicles (ATV), damaging the natural landscape. ATVs are specifically prohibited in Paragraph 8, Article 13 of the National Park Law, and Kenting National Park Headquarters   thus formed a special task force together with the Eighth Division, the Seventh Special Police Corps, National Police Agency to crack down on illegal activities.    At present, there are no longer any ATVs in the area, but the special task force will continue irregularly carry out joint operations. Kenting National Park Headquarters reiterates that ATVs are prohibited in national parks, and violators are liable to a maximum fine of NT$3,000. The headquarters calls on tourists to   not violate the law.
