20 traditional establishments in Kinmen National Park won awards from Kinmen County Government as outstanding B&Bs

Since inception, Kinmen National Park has promoted the restoration of traditional buildings and reused them as beds and breakfasts or as stores. Currently in the park there are 64 B&Bs with 312 guest rooms and seven stores. Each year the park holds an annual assistance and assessment event for B&Bs and stores to review the management of these establishments, to boost the restoration and performance of heritage buildings, and to improve the quality of service to tourists. Thirteen B&Bs in Kinmen National Park received from the county government 2014 superior awards and seven B&Bs received excellent awards. The traditional building B&Bs in Kinmen National Park have become paragons in B&Bs in Kinmen. They offer tourists an opportunity to experience life wisdom of ancient dwellers and the significance of heritage that local people have placed on these buildings. These are vital forces in Kinmen’s tourism. They broaden and deepen the historical and literary significance of tourists’ experience to Kinmen. They help elevate other industries and tourism, and they highlight the importance of the conservation and protection of traditional buildings and villages.
