Striking at dawn and detected a case of illegal fishing with nets in the waters near Shadao, the Seventh Special Police Corps and the Eighth Special Police Corps joined hands to interdict illegal activities.
To strengthen the preservation of resources in the waters around Shadao and Chuanfanshi, the Eighth Special Police Corps and Kenting National Park Administration carried out joint patrols of the seas around Shadao at dawn, when illegal activities often take place, looking for illegal hunting and fishing. They lay in wait, and sure enough, a person named Wu went into the water to handle his nets and took his catch. The patrollers issued Wu a ticket upon his return to land, fining him NT$3,000. The Eighth Special Police Corps and Kenting National Park Administration jointly urged the public not to abuse the precious ocean resources, and they pledged to continue to clamp down on illegal nets and maintain the natural environment at the national park. They also encouraged the public to use the toll-free preservation line, 0800-885-996, to report poaching and to stop catching wildlife with illegal nets.
