Shei-Pa National Park will lift a portion of snow season control measures starting on April 1st, soloing the Shengling Line is still prohibited
A portion of snow season control measures in Shei-Pa National Park the first half of this year will be lifted on April 1st. Regular channels for gaining entrance permission will be restored. Some sections are still frozen and personnel will continue to examine visitors’ climbing equipment. Also, the Shengling Line will only be open to groups of 2 or more people; soloing currently isn’t prohibited at remaining lines. The weather has been extremely unstable recently, and it has snowed at high altitudes. Mountain areas have great temperature difference between day and night, and trails can easily freeze and become slippery. Mountain climbers are still required to bring snow mountain climbing equipment for their own safety. Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters reminds mountain climbers to prepare snow equipment, there are cliffs on the Shengling Line, and should bring ropes and equipment when climbing rock walls. Inexperienced mountain climbers or those without sufficient equipment should avoid passing through snowy, frozen or dangerous sections for their own safety. The headquarters plans to divide mountain trails by the degree of danger and difficulty this year, hoping to reduce the number of accidents and increase mountain climbing safety in the park.
