Kinmen National Park implores people to refrain from taking plants in the park or face fines
Kinmen Daily News reported that a hundred-year-old Murraya paniculata was stolen on the ancient road in the Cai House. Thanks to the Jinhu Precinct and the Criminal Investigation Division, both of Kinmen Police Department, and Forestry Institute of Kinmen County, the case was resolved. The park also received a report from the public that Murraya paniculata had been stolen in the military camp in Tianmo Mountain. Tianmo Mountain and Taiwu Mountain are located in a special scenery area of Kinmen National Park. The park is saddened by the loss of the precious wood. To preserve the treasured forest and plantation, the park administration will step up enforcement and will prosecute perpetrators under National Parks Act and Forest Act to stem such illegal activities.
