2015 Yangmingshan Butterfly Show-off to start soon

About 400 butterfly species have been identified in Taiwan, of which at least 180 have been recorded in Yangmingshan National Park. As the weather warms, many nectar plants blossom during May and July. Many species of butterflies also eclose in this period. The park abounds with butterflies, many of them are Hiraute Shiny Bugleweek Herb and Milkweed butterfly or Danainae. The Datun Mountain portion of the park has the largest number of butterflies, and they are also the easiest to get close to at that site. It is a wonder. Datun Mountain drive is one of the important routes to see butterflies in the park. From May 50 to June 21, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the drive will be accessible to official vehicles and closed to all other vehicles. The measure is necessary to maintain butterfly habitats and ensure a safe environment in which visitors may enjoy the butterflies. The park administration urges visitors to take public transportation to leisurely enjoy the butterflies. In the mountains, the weather is more vagarious, and the temperatures are lower than in the city. Visitors are reminded to take along rain gears, warm clothing, and personal medications. We encourage visitors to respect the Leave No Trace ideal, to not touch the plants or the animals, and to take their own garbage with them when they go home at the end of their visit.
