Bones suspected of belonging to spotted deer were verified to be pig bones
Print media on May 19th reported that at least 200 plastic bags containing spotted deer skulls and bones were found in a coastal forest on the east side of Banana Bay in Kenting, indicating that over 300 of the some 2,000 spotted deer released into the wild have already been killed. Kenting National Park Headquarters asked Professor Pei Chia-Chi of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology to examine the bones. Results verified that all of the bones belong to pigs that were cookedand then disposed; the bones do not belong to spotted deer.
