Mountain climbing insurance now available! Taroko National Park calls on visitors to buy mountain climbing insurance before registering for mountain climbing
The Financial Supervisory Commission approved the sale of mountain climbing insurance by Fubon Financial, Tokio Marine Newa Insurance, Mingtai Insurance, Union Insurance Company, Shinkong Insurance, and Cathay Century Insurance this year to offer protection for mountain climbers. People intending to go mountain climbing must be in groups of at least five to purchase mountain climbing insurance, insuring them for potential hazards during mountain climbing. Mountain climbing insurance currently in the market includes death and disability benefits, medical benefits paid according to the actual expense, and emergency rescue insurance. The scope insured by mountain climbing insurance includes accidents (e.g. landslide, slipping, acute mountain sickness, hypothermia, and heatstroke, and specific incidents, e.g. death, disability and medical expenses from getting rabies after being bitten by a wild animal.
