Kenting National Park holds “Hengchun Township 140 Year Anniversary Bicycle Tour”
Did you know that the four gates and walls of the ancient city of Hengchun are the most complete in Taiwan? Do you know the legend of the west gate, an important scene in the movie “Cape No.7”? Is Hengchun’s snack “Green Bean Garlic” really made from garlic? Kenting National Park Headquarters will hold the “Hengchun Township 140 Year Anniversary Bicycle Tour” in the morning of October 25th, 2015 to take participants into history, look back on the construction of Hengchun’s city gates and walls, and experience the beauty of Hengchun’s nature and culture. Only 30 participants will be accepted; registration fee is NT$150 per participant; please register online. Kenting National Park possesses precious mountain and ocean scenery, natural landscapes, natural resources, and cultural heritage. Besides the 70 prehistoric remains discovered in the area, the park also has Eluanbi Lighthouse, Shimen Historic Battlefield, and Hengchun Ancient City. In which the construction of Hengchun Ancient City is directly related to the “Mutan Village Incident”; the city is also a classic example of Taiwan’s cities during the late Qing Dynasty.
