Application required for entering ecological conservation area of Yangmingshan National Park, visitors are prohibited from leaving the trail
With regard to the frequent reports of mountain climbers getting lost on Mt. Dajianhou, the response of Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters is as follows: Mt. Dajianhou is located in Mt. Huangzuei Ecological Conservation Area of Yangmingshan National Park and is on the windward side of the northeast monsoon. The top of the mountain has a Miscanthus ecosystem and is an important habitat in the ecological conservation area, which mainly preserves biodiversity or preserves areas that should be strictly protected for research on the population and reproduction environment of species. Such areas are the core protected areas in national parks. Entering the ecological conservation area requires permission from the national park headquarters. Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters accepts applications for entrance via Qingtiangang and Lukuping to the triangulation point of Mt. Huangzuei (route includes Tsuitsui Valley); signs are set up along the way, and the trail and lines to prevent mountain climbers from wandering off path are maintained on an annual basis, preventing mountain climbers from becoming lost and achieving ecological conservation and a safe environmental education experience. Other areas of the ecological conservation area (including Mt. Dajianhou) are not open to visitors for ecological and habitat protection; only academic researchers and personnel of the park headquarters are allowed to enter the area to reduce interference.
