Hiking Tour to Cising Mountain Is Open for Registration

Tatun volcano group is located in the most northern part of Taiwan as an important volcanic terrain scene in Yangmingshan National Park and the largest volcanic area on the island. The volcano’s altitude is in the range of 600 to 1120 meters, among which, Cising Mountain is the highest location. The Siaoyoukeng Recreation Area in the northwest even offers natural geology classes to experience post volcanic activities. It is also a good spot to view the hot spring and sulfur exhalation. Every year, it attracts many tourists from all over the world. In order to help people understand more about the shaping and geological scenes of volcanoes, the Yangmingshan National Park Administration Office has specially designed a guided hiking tour. The guide starts from the most volcanic spot, Siaoyoukeng, goes through Cising Mountain trail to the peak, and then goes to Lengshueikeng from the east side of the mountain at last. The guided hiking tour is open for online registration at 9am, April 12th. The registration fee is NTD700 per person. Each section only allows 50 people (first come first served). The three guided tour dates are April 22nd (Friday), April 23rd (Saturday), April 28th (Thursday). For details, please go to the Yangmingshan National Park website at http://www.ymsnp.gov.tw/.
