“Little Nature Observer – Children’s Ecology Observation Summer Camp” Starting!

Marine National Park Headquarters and Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park will organize a “Little Nature Observer – Children’s Ecology Observation Summer Camp” in the Kaohsiung park. This camp will take place three weeks in a row on 7/6, 7/7, 7/13, 7/14, 7/20, 7/21, which are on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This camp is free to all those that wish to participate but they have a limited number of openings available.

This camp will be divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The theme of the morning session is “exploring the organisms in the Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park”. Based on features of the ecology in the park, activities on plants, insects, and so on will be planned. Volunteers will show children around the park, encourage them to observe nature, and play ecological games with them. The theme of the afternoon session is “getting to know marine organisms, environment, and crisis.” Children will be able to learn about common marine organisms and think about what a great impact human activities impose on the marine environment. All these activities are expected to be fun and educational so that they can raise children’s awareness of environmental protection.
