Registration Starting for 2016 YMS YOUTH CAMP Yangmingshan Camp for Teenagers – Observing the Ecology and Experiencing the Mountain and Forest

The 2016 Yangmingshan Camp for Teenagers will take place in July over three time periods from 7/6 to 7/8, from 7/13 to 7/15, and from 7/20 to 7/22. In addition to experiencing an ecology rich in organisms, these teenagers will watch stars, play forest games, and be introduced to the concept of “Leave No Trace”, skills of camping in the wilds, and tree climbing skills. With the assistance of equipment, researchers studying the crown canopy of trees climb trees all the time, which is both fun and difficult. Participants will get to experience the fun part of doing ecological research.

This camp will only accept teenagers from 13 to 18 of age (elementary school graduates included.) The duration of the camp is three days and two nights. Each time period has 30 openings. In the first and second time periods, activities include camping in the wilds and forest games, which are designed for all teenagers. In the third period, activities include hiking and tree climbing. The hiking trail is not short and kind of difficult. Teenagers who want to participate need to be trained in hiking. Registration site: http://www.ymsnp.gov.tw/
