2016 International Wetland Convention in Taiwan goes live!

To promote wetland conservation and continuously reinforce wetland international cooperation and exchange, the Construction and Planning Agency (CPA) of the Ministry of the Interior (MOI), the Water Resources Agency (WRA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), the Forestry Bureau of the Council of Agriculture (COA) and the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) of the Executive Yuan co-organize the “2016 International Wetland Convention in Taiwan”.

Based on the theme “Symbiosis Ark: Our Common Wealth”, the Convention will investigate the actions for wetlands in climate change adaptation and homeland conservation in terms of green economy and homeland security for a win-win goal. The organizer has invited representatives from nine core international wetland organizations and 15 wetland conservation leaders and experts to Taiwan for wetland conservation exchange. These 9 core organizations include: Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS), International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Hong Kong, The International Association for Ecology—Wetland Working Group (INTECOL-WWG), Wetland International (WI), and International Society of Paddy and Water Environment Engineering (PAWEES). Together with domestic conservation experts and scholars, they will deliver keynote speeches, present papers, and implement integrated discussions.
