Back to its historic habitat, Formosan Landlocked Salmon are released into Hehuan River
To expand the distribution of the Formosan landlocked salmon also called Oncorhynchus formosanus, Shei-Pa National Park released 1000 Formosan Landlocked Salmon into its historic birthplace, the Hehuan River upstream within Taroko National Park. In the future, Shei-Pa National Park Administration and Taroko National Park Administration will continue with the supervision, monitoring and patrol, in tandem with local fish patrol teams in Cuiluan and Huagang regions, hoping that the cluster of fish in Hehuan River will grow into healthy and independently reproducing satellite clusters.
