At 10:30am on January 23, 2018 (Tuesday) morning, Kinmen National Park Headquarters will use an old historic battlefield site in the park as the location to hold opening ceremonies for Lieyu Nanshantou Camp Four.

Kinmen National Park Headquarters Director Hsieh Wei-Sung stated that Lieyu Nanshantou Camp Four is located in the Nanshantou area at the southern point of Lieyu Township, Kinmen, and that it was once an important stronghold for the military stationed on the southern coast of Lieyu. In addition to restoring the original fortifications, the design and planning for the stronghold also included coordination with the military to reinstall a 57mm M1 antitank gun in the original fort, to complete the military theme. Integrating existing tunnels from the fortification itself, the design now includes interactive games in the tunnels and pillboxes. These provide the families and the general public with a diverse, fun, and educational experience.
