Yushan National Park Amends National Park Prohibitions for Areas under Its Jurisdiction to Protect the Ecosystem and Quality of Recreational Activities
The Yushan National Park Headquarters have amended certain sections of the Prohibited Activities Regulations in the Domain of Yushan National Park. The amended version has been published by the Ministry of the Interior and came into effect on January 22, 2021.
1. Pets are prohibited in the three core areas of the national park (ecological protection area, historic site preservation area, and special landscape area).
2. Pets are allowed in recreational areas, general control areas, and along the Southern Cross-Island Highway. However, pet owners are reminded to use a leash or other appropriate protective measures to prevent pets from getting into conflicts with wildlife or other visitors.
3. Local residents are not subject to these restrictions.
4. Visitors are asked to dispose of their trash in the designated manner, sort their trash, and to take it with them as much as possible when leaving the mountain.
5. They should also follow the parking rules and onsite parking instructions to maintain good order and quality recreation.
The Sixth Division of the Seventh Special Police Corps, National Police Agency, will assist with law enforcement. For the initial period, the main focus will be advising and providing guidance, but visitors with poor attitude or being uncooperative will be fined up to NT$3,000.
