The National Park Law was promulgated in 1972. In the past 50 years, the legal regulations, operation and administration, and conservation and research of national parks have been solidified.
In the seminar, a retrospect of the developments of the National Parks of Taiwan was presented. A homage was paid to the former Director General Chang, Lung-Sheng of the Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of the Interior, who was dedicated to the establishment of the national park system and the Kenting, Yushan, Yangmingshan and Taroko National Parks.
Currently there are 9 national parks and 1 national nature park. This is the initial goal of national parks.
