Kenting National Park’s Policy for Reducing Waste Bins and Leaving no Trash
In recent years, the Kenting National Park has faced the growing issue of improper waste disposal from visitors and local residents, who even toss waste furniture and large items of trash in the park, because of the large size of the tourist area. Although the Kenting National Park Headquarters has allocated annual budgets for trash removal, the removal work is often inadequate due to reduced manpower budget. Recently, visitors or residents have been found to pile massive amounts of waste next to waste bins. This can cause environmental pollution and accidental ingestion by wild animals, damaging the local ecology.
Visitors are requested to bring their own reusable tableware. When visiting the Kenting National Park, please avoid using disposable tableware in order to reduce trash. If you can’t avoid using disposable items, please separate the trash and toss it in the correct bin. Please take your trash with you in scenic spots with no waste bins. The Kenting National Park Headquarters would like to remind the public to refrain from disposing of trash improperly at the National Park to avoid fines, to cooperate with the waste reduction policy, and protect nature in order to achieve ecological sustainability.
