Kenting National Park Invites You to Join Us to Clean the Beach and Protect the Ocean
Kenting National Park has a rich coastal ecology and a unique landscape; therefore, drifting garbage is difficult to remove. It is mostly done by manual labor. Due to the prolonged heavy rainfall this year and typhoons approaching, a large amount of drifting garbage has been brought by the currents and the southwesterly flow to the beaches of Kenting National Park. In order to promote the concept of environmental protection and to maintain the cleanliness of the marine environment, the Kenting National Park Headquarters (KNPHQ) will organize a beach cleanup with the help of multiple institutions and the general public in September.
This activity will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, in response to the Clean Up the World Weekend. In order to encourage the general public to participate and to strengthen the concept of environmental protection, the KNPHQ will hand out one reusable and foldable picnic mat for outdoor activities and one drawstring bag to each participant as gifts. The beach cleanup will also held in response to the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC). Garbage will be categorized at the beaches of the activity, and an ICC action form will be filled out.
