Show Your Love to Black-Faced Spoonbills: Black-Faced Spoonbill Season at Taijiang Opens on Oct. 1!
The wintering season for black-faced spoonbills and other migratory birds lasts from October to March every year. To let the public learn about the wetland ecosystem and the importance of conservation, the Taijiang National Park Headquarters holds a series of activities titled "Black-Faced Spoonbill Season at Taijiang" every year during the wintering season of migratory birds. As autumn approaches, black-faced spoonbills and wintering birds will be arriving in Taijiang. The Taijiang National Park Headquarters has planned to hold the opening event of the "2022 Black-Faced Spoonbill Season at Taijiang" on October 1, 2022, welcoming the public and families to join the event.
The opening event was held in cooperation with the Department of Fashion and Performance of Kun Shan University and incorporated the concept of "sustainable fashion and black-faced spoonbill aesthetics" into the theme of the event, including a black-faced spoonbill-inspired fashion show and black-faced spoonbill-themed party and photography session. Local conservation groups, government agencies, and Home Guard communities were invited to join in the event. Booths were set up at the Taijiang National Park Visitor Center (Taijiang Academy) to promote fun ecological games, creative DIY activities, and the display and selling of agricultural and fishery products and cultural and creative products from local communities.
