This year, the National Nature Park Headquarters is pleased to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Taichung Metropolitan Park, which is located in Dadu Plateau in Taichung City. Three environmental education activities will be held on October 16, October 23, and October 30, consisting of “Environmental Education Taking Root”, “Environmental Education Carnival” and “Birdwatching in Metropolitan Park”.

Taichung Metropolitan Park spans an impressive 88 hectares. It is a large green space in the metropolitan area that simultaneously embodies ecological conservation and education as well as recreation and relaxation. In 2012, the park passed the certification for environmental education facilities or venues and has since become an important site for the implementation of environmental education. Each year, thousands of visitors apply to take part in courses, including summer camps, designed by the park for elementary and middle schoolers, families, and civil servants. As part of the effort to ensure environmental education takes root, it is important for people to learn about the land they grow up in from a young age. This year, the park has set the theme of the 22nd anniversary celebration to be environmental education, and is holding a series of parent-child activities that will help the park promote environmental education.
