The Kinmen National Park Headquarters stated that the Kinmen area preserves many unique cultural relics of Minnan architecture and battle monuments. To revitalize and use these historically and culturally significant buildings and military monuments, the area has been actively engaged in restoration work since 1996. Subsequently, the private sector was also entrusted with the operation of homestays and specialty stores. At the same time, regular evaluations are conducted to encourage operators to improve the quality of their services and revitalize the development of the local tourism economy and leisure and recreation industry.

The homestays that received the Golden Quality Award this year are each characterized by the features of traditional Minnan settlement architecture, including the “Bird's Lodge” ,an ancient house that was restored by the Kinmen National Park Headquarters in 2012, which was honored with the 7th Golden Quality Award this year.

In addition, the Golden Quality Award stores also feature local characteristics. For example, the “Shenten Foreign Mansion” is located in the Oucuo Settlement in Kinmen, and the store is the first century-old Western-style building in Kinmen. It is a store with both memories of time and unique architectural features. The neighborhood is also a well-preserved cluster of traditional Minnan buildings.
