Results of “Island Song” Over the Past Three Years Collected and Published by the Marine National Park Headquarters

The Marine National Park Headquarters organized nine working holidays from 2020 to 2022, using locally sourced materials and integrating environmental education concepts, and combined them with human-powered construction methods to complete the construction work of three trails, namely Dongyuping Island Front Mountain, Dongji Island Bagua Mountain, and Donggong Island. These efforts allow local residents and tourists to appreciate the mountain and sea scenery of South Penghu Marine National Park from different angles.

The Marine National Park Headquarters collected the results of the hand-constructed trails of the South Penghu Marine National Park during the three-year period and published Island Song - Sustainable Trail Building On South Penghu Marine National Park. The book launch is planned to be held on April 29 at the Hung Yuan Hall of National Kaohsiung Normal University (Heping Campus), inviting Dr. Hung Ming-Jung, who provided medical care to the team, local residents, and trail volunteers to share their memories of the trail construction and convey the core spirit of the constructing the trail by hand. We hope to bring together more “hands” to jointly protect our National Parks.
