Completion of Qilai Chenggong Cabin Campground Planning
The Taroko National Park has a total of 27 mountain peaks out of the 100 Peaks of Taiwan. Among which, hikers often enter the Qilai Mountain Range from the Mount Qilai trailhead near the Ski Hostel in the Mount Hehuan Recreation Area. From there, they can choose different routes to hike the Mount Qilai Main and North Peaks, Mount Qilai Series, Qilai East Ridge, or down to the Mount Pingfeng from Mount Qilai North Peak. As a result, the Chenggong Cabin has become a popular accommodation and camping site for hikers. Therefore, the Taroko National Park Headquarters has completed the campground planning around the Chenggong Cabin.
The Taroko National Park Headquarters has set up spaces for seven four-person tents and one two-person tent on flat ground of the forest over Chenggong No. 2 Cabin. They have also organized and improved three existing four-person tent sites at higher locations of the creek bed. The campground can now accommodate up to 42 hikers, which significantly enhances their safety and recreational experience. It is aimed to meet the needs and expectation of hikers.
