Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park - Creating a Unique Inclusive Play Area with Nature-inspired Games
The Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park attracts numerous visitors daily, but many of its facilities have become outdated since its opening in 1996 and require renovation. The National Nature Park Headquarters conducted workshops to gain insight into children's perspectives on playgrounds and their play preferences, and subsequently organized explanatory meetings during the design phase to make the play area more tailored to the needs of children and parents.
A Unique Inclusive Play Area with Nature-inspired Games
The game park integrates forest and ecological concepts, as well as the imagery of the "Golden Rooster Sundial" in Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park, to create the "Bird of Time" play tower. The play tower is designed to connect different areas through forest paths, creating a diverse and inclusive recreational space. The National Nature Park Headquarters plans to complete the project by next year (2024), and at that time, families are welcome to come and enjoy the play area together.
