Baiyang Trail Reconstruction Completed - To Reopen on August 15

Baiyang Trail, which had been closed after a severe landslide at the end of 2022, is set to reopen on August 15 following monitoring and facility repairs. Visitors can hike the trail all the way to the Water Curtain Cave to enjoy the scenery of the waterfall and canyon. However, the observation deck and suspension bridge located below Baiyang Waterfall and the landslide zone, will remain closed due to safety concerns.

The Taroko National Park Headquarters said that after the reopening of the Baiyang Trail, visitors can enjoy the sceneries along the trail. New public restroom facilities have also been constructed outside the Water Curtain Cave. Protective nets and warning signs have been added to the cement bridge railings under the waterfall to enhance visitor safety. Visitors are urged to follow the signposts and pass through areas with risks of falling rock quickly without dawdling, and avoid entering closed-off areas for their own safety.
