Basalt and Bountiful Life: Rock/Time Wins Gold at the 57th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival

To communicate the importance of habitat conservation, the Marine National Park Headquarters, National Park Service, Ministry of the Interior commissioned director Yang Shou-Yi to make the documentary film Rock/Time: Basalt and Bountiful Life in the South Penghu, which was honored with the Gold award in the Nature and Environment category of the 57th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival! The Marine National Park Headquarters hopes to promote the cultural and environmental stories of the South Penghu Marine National Park to the international community and to convey the preciousness of the basalt habitat through marine environmental education.

According to the Marine National Park Headquarters, marine education should start at a young age. In addition to the first-line operation and management of the national park, it will continue to promote environmental education themed on the ocean. Through this opportunity of shining at the stage of an international film festival, special screenings will be held in the coming days, and school tours outside of Penghu will be arranged to deepen the cooperation with schools at all levels. We invite everyone to visit the national park and listen to the local stories. Let's work together to protect the majestic marine ecosystem.
