National Park Service and Wan Hai Lines Ltd. Join Hands to Restore Natural Vegetation and Fulfill Net-Zero Sustainability Goals
Wan Hai Lines Ltd. and the National Nature Park Headquarters, National Park Service, Ministry of the Interior organized the Tree Planting for the Restoration of Dadu Plateau Natural Plant Groups at the Taichung Metropolitan Park today (May 14). Two hundred saplings of native tree species were planted in the Taichung Metropolitan Park, fulfilling the goal of planting 2,000 native trees and shrubs of 129 species that Wan Hai Lines Ltd. had planned for 2024.
Deputy Director General Chen said that Wan Hai Lines Ltd. is committed to ESG goals of environmental protection, social responsibility, and sustainable management, and have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Cooperative Afforestation and Maintenance Project since 2022. From 2022 to 2030, a total of around 400,000 trees will be planted and maintained. Deputy Director General Chen expressed her gratitude to Wan Hai Lines Ltd. for its financial contribution and support for the planting of trees in the national parks as a contribution to society.
