Natural forest & a Xuejian treasure hunt: Taiwan's first AR interactive visitor center officially opens!

At 10am on April 1, the Xuejian Visitor Center in Shei-Pa National Park reopened with an all-new design. The event was witnessed by esteemed guests, hundreds of indigenous community members, and travelers. Now in its 11th year of operation, the new wing of Xuejian Visitor Center is the first in Taiwan to use 3D murals and AR technology. The Center connects Atayal activities in the past with modern technology, combining realism with imagination. This makes for a shining example of coexistence and mutual prosperity between the National Parks and indigenous people.

Also, to add the fun touch of environmental education, the Sanwan mini school, Daping Elementary School, also took part in this event. The teachers and students worked together to create 10 handmade treasure hunt birdhouses that are hidden in key features of the Xuejian recreational area. When visitors venture into the forest and collect souvenir stamps, not only do they learn about the environment, but the stamps can also be redeemed for Shei-Pa souvenirs.
